This is a position for a person who values variety in his or her job and exposure to all types of health physics work, from nuclear medicine departments to laboratories, industrial radioactive materials programs, and decontamination/decommissioning projects. We are searching for someone who excels at working independently but is also comfortable collaborating as a member of our team.

Duties:

Evaluate radiation safety programs. Audit radioactive material licenses and prepare and evaluate NRC and Agreement State license applications. Review required record systems. Perform instrument calibration and leak testing of sealed sources. Assist in decontamination-decommissioning and emergency response projects. Present radiation safety training sessions. Keep facility personnel informed of current and upcoming regulatory issues. Prepare summary and follow-up reports to customers. Perform Radiation Safety Officer duties.

Requirements:

B.S. or M.S. in Health Physics, Nuclear Medicine or related science. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Individual must be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and able to travel up to one week per month to outlying customers in the Midwestern and North Central U.S.
